10 Tips to Throwing a Winning NASCAR Party

For NASCAR fans, there’s nothing like being at the track on race day. But, if you can’t make it there, bring the excitement home by throwing a race day party! You and your friends and family can cheer your favorite drivers on together. Or maybe your favorite race fan is having a birthday gathering? Here are some tips for planning food and decorations with a NASCAR or racing theme. The key to doing both well is to have fun and be creative.

  • No amount of checkered print is too much when it comes to a race-themed party. Checkered plates, ribbons, balloons, and pennants can keep your party on the fast track. And don’t forget the table linens! If you’ve got big tables to cover, consider our plastic banquet tablecloth rolls in black and white.
  • Keep clean up in mind as you plan. Disposable plastic tablecloths make for easy clean up at the end of the night.
  • Small die-cast cars make great favors and decorations. Or maybe you can have fun with a simple flower arrangement, complete with a monkey wrench for the pit crew? Hubcaps and vintage license plates can also add to car-themed ambiance…and the fun.
  • Add to the excitement with an assortment of racing games or NASCAR Trivia. And be sure to include fun ribbons and prizes.
  • Order large cutouts of favorite racers or print photos and signs from online to use as decoration.
  • And finally, take a look at Pinterest for other race-themed party ideas.
  • Chocolate donut or Oreo spare tires? Chocolate-dipped pretzel dip sticks? A car-shaped cake? Have fun with race-themed treats.
  • Since you can’t be there, consider serving nicer versions of the foods that might be available at the raceway: nachos, hot dogs and burgers, chicken wings, and finger foods.
  • Use mini race flags (buy them or make them with plain toothpicks and printed checkered paper) as party favors or cupcake toppers.
  • Use funnels to serve drinks, pit-stop style.
