Grab your Sombrero for Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is being observed this Sunday May 5th.  It's a celebration of Mexican pride and heritage in the United States. The festivities center around food, drinks, music and good company. I helped friends decorate an outdoor table for a small gathering they were having to celebrate this occasion early. Beautiful, bright colors are an intrinsic part of the Mexican culture, so we used as many as possible.  For our table, an orange table cover and  green table skirt aided in  bringing out the bright colors of the decorative  masks. Happy Easter!  It's the time for Easter baskets, Easter bonnets, egg hunts and chocolate bunnies!  It's a time of rebirth and it marks the beginning of Spring. The traditional Easter color is white, but at this time of year pastels rule the color pallet.   I used a variety of colors to compliment the harvest yellow tablecloth and aqua table skirt.   A door wreath doubles as a festive centerpiece and candle holder.
